1937

The company had humble beginnings, with the local trade in potatoes and larger vegetables. This gradually grew into a company mainly focusing on potatoes and onions, trading all across the Netherlands and border regions.

1960's

The company was right in the middle of the mechanization of international transport, when containers came into use and revolutionized transport as we know it. This also had an impact on road transport, laying the seeds of new bulk road transport solutions that gave the company a new direction in the 1980’s.

1970's

Another development came when in this decade, a large storage contract was reached with the Frisian Flag dairy company. This contract made the company diversify and gain even more experience with storage, transport and trade of packed consumable goods.

1980's

After years of seeing less than ideal transport solutions for bulk goods such as potatoes, onions and other vegetables, an ingenious new solution made the company the first one to develop and produce belt unloading truck trailers made with one-piece walls. This gave the belt unloaders less weight, higher insulation properties and more loading capacity which was an instant success on the transportation market.

1994

In this year Metselaar sr. sold his share in the successful company and, among other things, furthered the development of our unique compact digital potato underwater weighing machine. A product we sell successfully to this day. It enables farmers and trading companies to measure and assess the dry content weight of their potato crops, resulting in more accurate quality control and maximization of their profits.

2000- present

In this new century, the company further focused on national and international trade, recognizing the trouble for certain countries outside of western Europe to find and buy quality foods and (agricultural) machinery. Our extensive network is an ideal tool to help companies in these developing countries, this culminating in the possibilities and products we offer today.
